Exams and grading system
The continuum evaluation model method (whether through written and spoken presentations or others) is decided by the course responsible professor. Yet, the enrolment in the first and second calls is mandatory and it is made through the user account.
Students can enroll in both exam dates and if they pass the first call exam, the second call will only be considered as grade improvement. You can also enroll to improve a degree of a course you took last year.
In the winter semester, exams take place between January and February, and in the summer semester, between June and July. For detailed dates and other informations, please check the exams calendar.
The Portuguese grading systems expresses itself in values between 0 and 20, being 10 the minimum grade for approval. Sometimes, tests, essays or exams grades have decimal values, such as 9,5. When such happens, the semester final grade is rounded down if the decimal value is 0,4 or inferior, or rounded up if the decimal value is 0,5 or superior.
Even so, you should have in mind that the professor may contemplate factors like class attendance and participation to add to exams and essays grades, which can affect your final grade.
